Meetings
We have regular weekly meetings every Thursday at 6pm at Cafe Vita in the UCSD One Miramar graduate housing complex. The language meet-up participants are mostly graduate students but anyone passionate about speaking French is welcome. All fluency from absolute beginner to native speakers are welcome. You can find parking in the large parking structure right next to the cafe on the third level.
Generally, you will find us at the tables right in front of the cafe. In case of inclement weather, we'll move inside or up into one of the One Miramar community rooms if inside is too crowded.

Resources
Classes
At UCSD
There are many opportunities for french instruction in San Diego. (And if you are a native french speaker, many opportunities to teach.) At UCSD, both the linguistics and literature program offer french courses. The linguistics department offers beginner courses, while the literature courses are at a more advanced level. These courses are either 4 or 5 days a week for an hour or one hour and 20 minutes. If you are enrolled at UCSD you can take these classes for free. You can also take one day per week classes through UCSD extension for a fee.
UCSD Linguistics Language Lab
Located in Room 3432A of the Applied Physics and Math (AP&M) building on the Muir campus, the Language Laboratory has a number of books, videos, newspapers, software, and other resources for students learning languages. (However, many of these resources cannot be removed from the lab.) Visit the webpage: http://ling.ucsd.edu/langlab/langlab.htm, or call (858) 534-2418 for more information.
Beyond UCSD
There are language classes available San Diego State University and the University of San Diego. There are also no fee classes available through the San Diego Community College district. This is a good option for taking free language classes (or any classes) in the summer. You need to check the schedules because french is not always offered during the summer.
Events and Activities
International House Language Tables
The Language Tables at UCSD are another opportunity to speak various languages on a regular basis. Check the website above for the quarterly schedule.
Alliance Française de San Diego
The best place to find info about french and francophone activities in San Diego is through the Alliance Française website. They publicize info about all sorts of french language and french culture events in San Diego. They host a number of events including lectures, film screenings, theater performances, jazz events, hiking excursions, and an annual Beaujolais Nouveau event.
