Here's the Welcome from OGS:

Welcome to Graduate Study at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).

The information provided in this brochure is designed to supplement the publications you will receive from your academic departments by providing you with additional information to facilitate your transition to UCSD and the San Diego area.

Prior to the beginning of instruction many departments schedule formal orientation activities for entering graduate students. These orientation activities occur during the first three weeks of September. Look for announcements describing these events, and check with your department for exact times and dates. New Graduate Student Orientation and Information sessions sponsored by the Office of Graduate Studies (OGS) will take place during the week before classes start. Staff from student service departments, as well as graduate student groups, will be available to provide specific information about their programs and services. The staff of the Office of Graduate Studies will assist you in any way possible before and after your arrival to UCSD.

OGS is located in the Student Services Center, south of the Price Center in the center of campus. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. For informationa and general questions, contact OGS at (858) 534-3555 or visit our website at ogs.ucsd.edu. We look forward to meeting you and wish you every success in your graduate studies.
